New natural came out great

Made this little natural after work, just needed the physical activity. It has been a while since I made my last frame, too.

Cornus sanguinea of course (European dogwood). This time, one of the limbs had obviously been dying, which added beautiful patterns to the frame.

The shape is most comfortable and pleasing. There is really no reason why a slingshot has to be any larger than that one. The palm swell works great for both hammer grip and finger support style.

Banded it up with a half butterfly double TB gold band, seems to be the right dimension for this great shooter.

  3. just beautiful... am i seeing this right: there is no groove for the band attachment?

  4. Horstel, no, grooves are not necessary. The rubber attachment is so strong that you can rather tear the bands than slipping the attachment off.

I sometimes use grooves for the looks, though.

  5. why don't you use the latex inner tubing? It might look a little nicer.

  6. Yellow :)
Great "woman" shapes on the first photo ;)
I have cut some dogwood myself, but mine had a slightly green color. No white ivory look after polishing :)
Nevertheless, that wood is awesome: hard and tough to brake. 1-1,5cm fork’s hands and is enough for my hardest bandsets.
Thanks for showing that stuff :)

  8. The dark grain contrast really sets this one apart. Most impressive and as usual, exactly what we have come to expect from you. Well done. Excellent craftsmanship.

Are you gonna film this beauty shooting?

  10. Will probably use it in one of my upcoming videos, but certainly not as the "main actor".

  11. Simple, sleek, classic, beautiful. I looks so suave, like something I wouldn't be surprised to see come out of a mobster's briefcase during a power upheaval, all Kill Bill style.

  15. Looks nice Joerg, I'll have to make one from dogwood that's all polished up. Around here in western North Carolina we get Dogwood that is a white and pink marbled color.
