Cold Steel Meeting at IWA!

The IWA is probably Europe's most important annual weapons show. No hobbyists are allowed, except with a personal invitation by one of the exhibitors.

Cold Steel was kind enough to invite me to the show! Meet Lynn Thompson, founder and president of Cold Steel, see him receiving his Jörg Sprave Hammerhead slingshot in cast aluminum. Lynn then gives a personal demonstration of his fighting skills with two huge Bowie knifes.

All of the Zombie killing Cold Steel products are checked out at the booth. I left their booth with a huge amount of presents in exchange for my slingshots. Generous guys for sure!

Then, I walked the showfloor, looking for other cool stuff. Large knifes, awesome crossbows and even a brand new arrow shooting air rifle from Sweden are presented in this slightly off topic video - to me, the true highlight. Built in pump, three strokes for 300 fps! They even have a model that is detachable, breech loaded and fires up to 600 fps - the fastest arrow shooter in the world?

  1. Jorg, What's the manufacturer of the arrow-shooting air rifle? Great video! You're the coolest.

    1. It is FX-Airguns; Joerg is on the news section of their website: http://www.fxairguns.com/cat/news/

The second airgun is not listed by now, though.

  4. Good video, Joerg. I just wish I had been in that 'candy store' myself. Cold Steel knives are among the best I've seen but now many are being made in China and they are, in my opinion, not as reliable as the ones made in the USA. Mine cuts trees, limbs, and branches every month and I only need to sharpen it maybe once a month or every other month. Now I will have to buy a Cold Steel, Joerg Sprave inspired sling-shot if they start making them. :)

  8. Nice video.
Fun to see Jörg's so big he almost doesn't fit in his jacket :D
I'm afraid you have to go tailor made, like der Arnold

  9. The jacket IS tailor made. I have no chance to fit into a standard jacket.

  10. Oh haha, my fashion eye fails me again. Btw. a little tip from me, the bottom button isn't actually meant for fastening. And if a jacket has three buttons only the middle is fastened. Then the fabric falls easier and follows your movements better. It also accentuates a slimmer waist and makes the overall appearance more relaxed. No kidding, ask your tailor ;)

Besides, the cold steel boss seems to be a nice guy. I hope your meeting turns out meaningful in the future as well, one way or the other.
