I made a few more variations for the "Panther", it is too much fun.
First, I "married" the "Lead Launcher" handle (part of a design I made for Gamekeeper John) with the Panther, simply by cutting the side bars off the frame handle and fitting it into a wooden handle. The wood is "cornus sanguinea", common dogwood. I wanted it to stay as bright as it is naturally, so I did not stain it, just polished and polycoated the whole thing.
I encourage every power hungry shooter to try this handle, it allows ridiculous draw weights. Here you see it equipped with four layers of TB Gold, a full butterfly set that propels the one inch (25 mm) steel balls to ridiculous speed.
I also made a very thin "Speznaz" version of the Panther, just by using a length of shrink tube to cover the handle. I outiftted it with a full butterfly set made from two layers of TB Gold, very good for the 20 mm steel ball ammo.
I am really happy with the results!
Sehen beide richtig gut aus,
ReplyDeletefinde die Holzgriffversion aber besonders gelungen.
Gibt es die Möglichkeit eine der beiden Versionen zu ergattern (52 Wochenaktion)?
Did a great job with both. The one with the rubber must have a good grip and the wooden hammergrip handle a great idea. Didn´t expect that you can do so much with only one slingshotdesign.
ReplyDeleteHier mal für die die auch Deutsch sprechen. Ich finds echt nett. Die mit dem Gummi sieht zwar sehr einfach aus, aber ich glaube das es sich bestimmt gut in der hand anfühlt. Mach weiter so. Hast echt geniale ideen für manche sachen.

Der Lead Launcher Griff steht ihr gut! der Bandsatz sieht auch echt gewaltig aus :-)
ReplyDeleteZu dieser Schleuder gehört einfach so ein Griff!
Sauber gemacht!

i want to win slingshot!
Beatiful design, Mr. Sprave, as always!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from your friends in the US. Please keep your innovative slingshot designs coming!
ReplyDeletehey jorg,
ReplyDeleteany way we can get some sort of translation window or tab on here? would like to be able to read some of the deutschland comments.
also, love the wooden handle shooter. even though idk if i would saw the side pieces of the handle off
Not too shabby. As usual, beauty and function rolled into one. And, as usual, I find myself wanting one of these. I like also the tip of shrink wrap tubing and wonder how well it would work at the rubber connections to the tips for a smoother overall look.
ReplyDeleteSeptimius, If you are using Internet Explorer as your browser, highlight German language comments and then right click. Use the translator and you will then see in English what they have written. I use it all the time as I also would like to know what those 'foreigners' are saying. :)
ReplyDeletelove the grip. looks like tooth or tusk.
ReplyDeleteVery nice grip. I think I buy this slingshot since my uncle is also able to make nice grips frome bones, wood etc. greetings from czech republic. Josef
ReplyDeleteThose curved hammer-grip style handles do look very comfortable and I suspect they fit different hand sizes better than the more complex grooved handles. I'm going to try to make one with 4 layers of laminated 12mm birch plywood, ie 2 x 12mm for fork and handle with another 12mm on the front and back of the handle and a lot of cutting and sanding. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome handle along with an awesome slingshot design. As always, totally impressed.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work as always. You've always set the bar really high for those of us that love making slingshots.
ReplyDeleteYou are a genius Joerg!
ReplyDeletethat wooden handle looks just like ivory
ReplyDeleteCool, I want one!
ReplyDeleteHello Mr. Sprave. I am sorry to hear that some folks were being ugly towards you on the forums. I have been watching your videos for a while now and I just can not imagine why anyone would want to act hateful towards you because you seem like such a kind human. Stay creative and please keep making videos!
ReplyDeleteI like them, they look kind of retro, that's just my thing
ReplyDeleteHi jeorg
ReplyDeletenice as allways maby you could try a fimo grip or
U could go back to your self defence type of slingshot put a wooden handle on it with a folding knife in the middle.
Hello Jeorg
ReplyDeleteIm a very big fan of you and your channel. Very cool design of the panther. I hope I win one.
I love how universal the Panther design is. You can do almost anything with it! That is really cool. I am planning on making some exotic hardwood grips for some slingshots that I have, although I am not very good with wood and can only hope that they will come out as good as yours.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteLove the Panther! It's sick looking like all of your designs!
Keep them coming!
Wow the wooden grip looks really amazing.
ReplyDeleteNice Mod, like all your designs, this two versions are really cool man
ReplyDeleteNice! Looking foreword to the CANNON!
ReplyDeleteI had a crazy dream the other night. Someone that looked like Jorg shot my kneecap with a giant steel ball which led to my death. HAHAHA.
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure watching those youtube vids.
I love all of your videos and slingshots! keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteThat is just a simpel and beautiful slingshot, i must say :)
