Two short videos instead of one longer version, simply because the content is so different.
First, my take on shooting paintballs with the slingshot... believe it or not, I got 102,5 m/s (336 fps) with a conventional frame (extremely tapered TBG, one layer).
Next, here is the video about the new "Three Spikes" design:
Enjoy!
Lanyard, yes smart move mate !! I did have a few reservations on the spikes, but looks good and safe now.well done Jorg.
ReplyDeleteJorg how do you calculate your band dimensions in order to get maximum speed/power with a given projectile? Say 16mm marble, or 12mm lead? I know about the TBG calculator on your site, but if i wanted just speed, then would I have to use extremely tapered bands, or is there another method?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Just set both sliders in my calculator to "max power".
DeleteThis will give you an extremely tapered band that you draw out to its maximum stretch.
It won't last very long, though!
what do you do for a career? you have so much time to make awesome slingshots. they must be expensive. and you seem so frikin buff.
ReplyDeleteA couple of months ago I accidently found one of your videos. Actually I was never interested in slingshots - even when I was a little boy. For the last two months I've seen nearly all your videos - that was a great fun! I even ordered a simple slingshot :) Thank you for your videos - they always cheer me up.
ReplyDeleteLuxury matter! Maybe I make something similar, even though I'm afraid to damage the rubber on the sharp tip. But I believe that it is well invented.

ReplyDeletewhy arent you shooting your vids in your back yard anymore?
ReplyDeleteHonzaS, the rubber never touches the tips. I checked in slow motion.
ReplyDeleteHOBBS68, I moved 300 miles down south, this IS my (new) backyard. It will take a few years to make it as beautiful as the old one.
Hey there! Are you wearing the glove for slap-back or just letting your hand heal a bit more from the roof top shooter?
ReplyDeleteYou need to develop a spiked ball to match the spiked slingshot. That would be awesome!! I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
ReplyDeleteThese sling shots are cool how do i get one ...
