Have enhanced the handle a bit, made it thinner and shorter. This is IT now! I believe this is the best hammer grip frame I ever made. I am thinking about sending it to Pete Hogan to get it done in aluminum or bronze.
While it would look really classy in bronze, I can't get over how well the layering in the wood shows off the curves. If I had a choice I'd pick the wood 10 times out of 10!
I will agree with the others in specifically admiring how the layers add so much to the appearance of this sling-shot. I also would prefer this wood over it in bronze, if I had a choice in the matter. It is stunningly beautiful as Kepis stated.
It requires advanced woodworking skills to make this slingshot. You have to cut out three identical frames and laminate them. This requires very precise cuts. Then, lots of rasp work. I am not sure if I should make a how-to, as only few of my viewers would have the skills and the patience. But I may give the frame to Pete Hogan for casting it in aluminum and bronze.
Well the wood looks nice and metal one would look also nice so is there any way of putting em together? Well I think there is, multiple layers of brass and aluminium on top of each other would look absolutely stunning.
WOW. The curved handle looks like it's easy to hold! Can't wait to see the video if you're making one!
ReplyDeletenow that is just simply stunning

ReplyDeleteIt´s indeed a pity that it hasn´t got the layers anymore when cast in metal.
ReplyDeleteAbout the handle... it looks like the body of a wasp, with a stinger on the end. Especially in the second photo. And then it also has wings.

ReplyDeleteTHAT'S what i'm talking about! can I copy one for myself? :D
ReplyDeleteGreat job! A metal casting would definitely look amazing!
ReplyDeleteAmazing, clean elegant. Any chance of a HOW TO PLEASE :) I would love to make this frame!

ReplyDeleteThe Museum of Modern Art in New York City purchases this sort of thing as exhibits. You should contact them.
