Slowly Healing

Well, the healing is in progress.

Here you can see how the wound looks like today. It is clear now that the ball hit the top of my hand, squeezed skin and flesh until a tear opened, then it ripped a "pouch" into the back of my hand and flew on.

Can you imagine what would have happened if I would have gotten a full hit, to the root of my thumb?

  1. Good assessment of the sequence of events. A slight difference in angle would have done far more damage to bones and joints both. I am glad it wasn't so. You could have lost both thumb and forefinger. I imagine they loaded you up with pain-killers which make this more bearable. If you continue with your short story 'chronicle of the village', you should use this experience to add to the story line.
Take care Joerg and know we are pulling for you.

  5. Hope it heals soon, I am shocked that it looks so good, I was thinking it might look like that board that the slingshot hit where the back was completely obliterated where the ball exited the board. Also I am glad that your hand still works.

  9. Superpeoples100 - keep in mind that the ingeunity of this slingshot is the acceleration. He hit his hand presumably 2 meters early. that's pretty fortunate, I think.

  10. Man that must have hurt!!!! I once cut the end of my thumb off with an axe so I feel your pain. The hand is the worst part of the body to injure (except maybe one or two more delicate areas. ahaa) especially for someone as talented at using them as you.
I wish you a swift recovery and hope for more videos soon.
