I came home late from work tonite (7 PM or so), but simply HAD to make a raw slide in order to test the action.
It works! Full blown pump gun feeling and everything. Shot about ten rounds without any problems. The racking action is very light, even with two bands per side. It will be easy to upgrade to three bands per side, giving the weapon serious power.
This "eats" bands right now as everything is rough and edgy, but I love it already. Next weekend, I will be returning from a biz trip late on Saturday, but hopefully I will make the necessary enhancements (rasping... filing... sanding... painting) in time for the Sunday nite video.
I promise you an epic slingshot.
Outstanding Joerg! Just a little sanding and painting and you will have a serious weapon to play with. Amazing what you can do when you set your mind to it. I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteIts awesome dude.
ReplyDeleteI would suggest you not to paint it as the bullpup crossbow. The coat should be THIN. However I would not paint it, like your previous ones.
ReplyDeleteAnyway you do it, thats very nice :)
I don't know how you come up with so many ideas. BTW still hoping to win a sling. Is the giveaway still in progress?
ReplyDeleteWe want some video, video, video, video
ReplyDeleteHaha very interesting. Rough on the edges, but interesting. And it's going to be a world premier as the first rubber shotgun.
ReplyDeleteAndreas, perhaps it's not my place to say this, but the current design does not appear to be more than a single round shot. But if the past ingenuity of Joerg will prevail again, perhaps we will see a repeating shotgun with many pellets in the not-too-distant future. However, that may prove to be more difficult.
ReplyDeleteIf it can be done, I would think it would be Joerg designing and producing it.
I personally would envision a paddle wheel within the magazine on the horizontal plane dropping a measured amount of shot into the chamber with a semi-rigid Kylex sealing pouch pushing out the pellets. But Joerg is the innovator and I simply expand on his original ideas. His ideas work and my ideas are just that; ideas. :)
ReplyDeletebecoming beautiful
ReplyDeleteI don't plan to make a shotgun out of this, just 20 mm steel balls. Pellets don't have enough mass to work well when shot from a rubber based weapon.
ReplyDeleteI have started to work on the smoothing job, "barrel" first. For now I attached tubes (TB Black) so I don't ruin a TB Gold bandset after twenty shots or so.
The mechanism works fantastic, really. With just two moving parts! I am quite happy.
YES! I'm glad it worked! I really can't wait to see this weapon shoot!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing this in action! I love the new new intro the boys at Tapefilm did a great Job!!!!
ReplyDeleteMan! It seems to be amazing!! I saw your videos (almost all of them)and I have some ideas that I thought I would share. Do you have any e-mail where I could share it? :D
ReplyDeleteSure, jsprave@macrosystem.de
ReplyDeleteWill there be a tutorial to?
ReplyDeletelooks very nice i doesnt need any paint
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, can't wait to see it in action with a paint-job. You must have quite a bit of Time on your hands but it looks like it is worth it. All of your work is very inspiring. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteRegarding Rams17's statement, if you have a passion for something you find a way to MAKE time.
slingshot crossbow 2.3 ?!
ReplyDeleteIt is stunning I cannot wait to see it fire!
ReplyDeleteWitch one is stronger between this or your crossbow that you bought?
ReplyDeleteWhy don´t you make videos of the building process of your slingshots?
ReplyDeleteAmazing work! You are really thinking about this in a unique and innovative way. I've been "away" from slingshots since my childhood, but I'm coming back with one of your Dankung Panthers. I've only seen a small percentage of your videos currently, but I'm already blown away! Could the slingshot be the ultimate all-purpose defensive tool? With a big enough supply of Thera band gold, ball bearings and design knowledge, you could start a revolution. Crazy-talk aside, your enthusiasm and kindness to share are inspiring! Keep up the good work and ignore the haters!
ReplyDeleteAloha,

This one isn't nearly as strong, but reloading is a whole lot faster.
