I decided to use the piece of rare white ebony for a "six circles" frame. In order to show more wood, I made a whole fron and back, not just scales.
Had to do a lot of repairing as the wood was ancient and had several wormholes. Hard, dense material!
It took on a beautiful gloss, so I just oiled it with clear gun stock oil, no staining. The wood grain is just stunning, don't you think?
that is just stunning
ReplyDeletewoah, nice man, i love how this Slingshot looks o.o
ReplyDeleteHello there, great workmanship, and I'm just wandering what you could come up with, 3D Printing some Slingshots...
ReplyDeleteIF you find a hard enough 3D Printing Material...
Here's a good place to start, both 3D printing in Stainless Steel, and plenty of Laser Cut plates:

it almost looks like horn

ReplyDeleteJörg, that is stunning. I know Ebony is extemely dense, but I had no idea that there was a "white Ebony".
ReplyDeleteAnother great job!
ReplyDeletei absolutely love your handmade wooden slingshots. the shape itself is beautiful with the marbling of the wood, let alone the rarity of the material. please continue to show handmade wooden slingshots, they give a true example of craftsmanship.

ReplyDeleteHi Joerg, that is a beautiful slingshot. You are obviously a skilled craftsman. I love using wood it's natural beauty outshines my meager skills.
ReplyDeleteYour vids on you tube are always super awesome! Love watching you smash random things!!! Bring back the gatling sling shot it was wicked!
ReplyDeleteHey Joerg
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you're doing a lot of experimentation into slingshots and what they can achieve.
I'm just wondering if you've ever had a mishap with a slingshot?
Keep up the fun and good work!
that is great looking wood, i can't believe that is just a polishing, no sealing- how did you do that?
ReplyDeletewoww !! this slingshot is art. keep up the good work ! :)
ReplyDeleteit's art! the slingshots i built when i was younger still had their bark on when i "finished" them :-D great artwork you're doing there ;)
ReplyDeleteThe marbled grain is just unbelievable another beauty!
ReplyDeleteI have seen all the videos and wait to see more soon, great channel :D
ReplyDeleteThis is artistic, somehow the multiplex core makes it so much better, How did you resolve the wormhole problem exactly??
ReplyDeletewow that is beautiful especially the grain now i need to buy some. Thanks Joerg.

ReplyDeleteThat's a very nice slingshot you made Joerg!I like it a lot!You inspired me to start making my own slingshots out of wood and natural forks! Thanks for everiting and keep the vids coming!
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely a beautiful wood; but how would you attach the bands to it? Or are you still going to modify it a little more. I follow your Youtube channel under a different name, so you can answer in one of your vids if you like.
ReplyDeleteI really love your work Jeorg :D
ReplyDeleteThat is such beautiful craftsmanship.
It's beautiful! :D
ReplyDeleteI watch all your videos. But have yet to build a slingshot for myself. This one looks really nice :)

This is perhaps one of the most beautiful wooden objects I have ever seen. Nice work, Joerg.
ReplyDeletegood job buddy, nice finishing it seems like polish bone or ivory
ReplyDeletehave a nice day
That looks great. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteI see that your slingshots do not utilize an "arm brace" (like in a Trumark WS-1). Is that just your preference?
ReplyDeleteHEYO i love your designs!
ReplyDeleteThat's a really nice slingshot!!
ReplyDeleteI would like to do one myself, but i don't know if i got the time... How long time does it takes for you to do a slingshot i wood?
Thanks for all the awesome videos!!

ReplyDeleteOn your youtube channel you said you hope your wife cooks the lamb leg well... does that mean your married???
ReplyDeleteI love the white ebony, your six circles design is also very well chosen. Good job man, keep going!
ReplyDeletedamn the craftsmanship is awesome. the sheen on the wood is nice it bet it took forever to get it that shiny.~~
ReplyDeleteThis wood looks soo amazing.
ReplyDeletevery nice
ReplyDeleteIt makes me envious. Now I have to save my pennies and find some white ebony. :) Rarely have I seen such beauty in wood. The elegance of the 6 radius design and the ebony have come together to make a true collector's piece. Good on you Joerg.
ReplyDeleteThat is truly BEAUTIFUL craftsmanship. You make the best slingshots, BY FAR.
ReplyDeleteThis is really nice looking, I just also looked at your VAMPIRE STAKE post, and I'm big into Yawara sticks, so I think if you combined this one with the vampire stake, then you have a Yawara Stick Sling Shot which I think would have more people interested in the sling shot!
ReplyDeleteWow the most beautiful slingshot I've ever seen!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful wood jeorge!
ReplyDeletei want to win a slingshot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I like how the wood polished up.

ReplyDeletereminds me of the wasp a little bit nice work! looks like very nice craftsmanship, cant wait to see what else you got in store for us.
ReplyDeleteI do love the new slingshot, it's a beautiful piece. And while I'd hate to see wood like that marked up, I would like to know how well it fires.
ReplyDeleteJoerg, you simply MUST become famous.... that is all... :)
ReplyDeleteThat is by far the most beautiful slingshot I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteWow, that slingshot turned out beautiful with that white ebony.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I love that design and the extra thickness makes it even better! The white ebony just added more beauty!
ReplyDeleteSexiest slingshot ever!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so elegant.
Beautiful craftsmanship
ReplyDeleteLooks good, I would also like to see what a rifle stock made of that wood would look like.
ReplyDeletetake care
Yes, I am happily married to a beautiful woman. You can see here here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2biGPS9nU6U
ReplyDeleteI filled the wormholes with a mix of epoxy and sawdust, takes several attempts to get it really flush.
Read the Panther manual for the band attachment! It has a chapter about that.
Yet another fan of your work here! I'm new to this, but catching the fever quickly!
ReplyDeletevery good slingshot, indispensable in the woods, merges with the environment
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful piece of wood that made that amazing slingshot.
ReplyDeleteIt has a beautifull rounded shape, and the grain gives it a natural look.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful use
ReplyDeleteof a wonderful
piece of wood!
Great slingshot! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is nice work. It would be nice to see it with the bands on it to see the final piece

ReplyDeleteMan, You are my idol!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had time to make awesome tools of destruction like these.
Lovely Wood.
ReplyDeleteGreat and beautiful stuff, especially this ebony slingshot!!! been following your stuff for a while now via Gizmodo, always a nice surprise to find a new "tool" or slingshot experiment!!!
ReplyDeleteI came across you on The Blaze and was very impressed. Great stuff. I'm a firearms guy, but I still keep a slingshot on hand for dealing with the neighbors' stray cats. It's not that I hate cats, I've got nine of my own. I just hate having my cats being tormented, that's all. Anyway, great work!
ReplyDeletePretty sweet sling shot, reminds me of a lot of good times when I was a kid with my sling shot. Nice craftsmanship.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteJoerg,
ReplyDeleteEinen schoenen Gruss aus Houston, Texas. Deine Videos haben es schon bis hierhin gebracht!
Vielen Dank fuer die guten Anleitungen. Werde das mal mit meinem Sohn ausprobieren!
*heitjer*
beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis one looks absolutely beautiful. You could not have found a better material for that. I love the natural shine of this wood.
ReplyDeleteI must say, that white ebony is extremely beautiful. I love that it is just the wood that has been polished, and no varnish was added.
ReplyDeleteDude, I love watching your channel. Always wanting to see what's next.
ReplyDeleteAs always, great work!
ReplyDeleteI'm 54 years old and haven't thought about slingshots in years. Now that I've found your site I'm going to try to make one myself.
ReplyDeleteWOW...
ReplyDeleteThis is a very nice slignshot!!!
It looks like it's made out of bones...
Very, very nice design!
ReplyDeleteWow, really a nice one.
ReplyDeletebeautiful how the wood looks
Very cool looking
ReplyDeleteNice you gonna shoot that art
ReplyDeleteVery nice piece! This has inspired me to use some old Iron Wood scraps I have had for a while. I have never made any thing with it because it is very dense and difficult to tool. I think it will make a perfect handle for my new American Fox...
ReplyDeleteYes! the wood grain is fantastic! This is a collector's sling shot now.
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful!
ReplyDeletethe noble woods are great. I'll try something like this by myself!
ReplyDeletethanks again for this inspiration!!!
beautiful rounds man, i would like to see this with fast changers and a shorter handle (with a pinky hole, gotta love the pinkyhole)
ReplyDeleteThe material is beautiful i only don't like the form of the slingshot but that should be a matter of taste
ReplyDelete@officialmike: For a hammer grip frame, a pinkie hole is useless. It makes sense for the finger support style only.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteawesome wood
ReplyDeleteWow that is gorgeous. You're a fantastic craftsman, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteHey Joerg where do you find all these exotic woods? I would like to make some slingshots out of these woods they are absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDelete
